Glossa Festival
Skopelitians love the dance and it is a way for them to express their connection with the island’s tradition. Another Dance Festival is organized by the Cultural and Adornational Association of Glossa Village in the middle of July. For two days, Glossa hosts dance groups and dances at traditional rhythms. Dancers with traditional costumes promote their special culture and give a distinctive color to the cobblestones of the village. Celebrations are repeated in August (at Loutraki -Glossa’s port) but also including concerts with famous singers that offers a nostalgic musical journey. In addition, the “Loizia Festival” is held in August in Glossa, to the honor of Manos Loizos (1937-1982), one of the most important Greek-Cypriot composers of the 20th century. The festival includes concerts with songs of Loizos, theatrical performances, traditional dances and of course food and wine for free.
